Abstract Achieving broadband solar thermal absorption via dilute nanofluids is still a daunting challenge since the absorption peaks of common metal particles are usually located in the visible part of the radiation spectrum. This paper aims to present the results of experimental investigations on the thermal performance of heat pipe-type evacuated solar collectors. The experimented system consists of 15 tubes, providing the hot nanofluid to 100-L storage in a closed flow loop. The solar collector with a gross area of 2.1 m2 is part of the solar hot water test system located in Baghdad-Iraq. Al2O3 nanofluid at… More >

Abstract The penetration rate of new wind and photovoltaic energy in the power system has increased significantly, and the dramatic fluctuation of the net load of the grid has led to a severe lack of flexibility in the regional grid. This paper proposes a hierarchical optimal dispatch strategy for a high proportion of new energy power systems that considers the balanced response of grid flexibility. Firstly, various flexibility resource regulation capabilities on the source-load side are analyzed, and then flexibility demand and flexibility response are matched, and flexibility demand response assessment is proposed; then, a hierarchical… More >

Abstract The intermittency and volatility of wind and photovoltaic power generation exacerbate issues such as wind and solar curtailment, hindering the efficient utilization of renewable energy and the low-carbon development of energy systems. To enhance the consumption capacity of green power, the green power system consumption optimization scheduling model (GPS-COSM) is proposed, which comprehensively integrates green power system, electric boiler, combined heat and power unit, thermal energy storage, and electrical energy storage. The optimization objectives are to minimize operating cost, minimize carbon emission, and maximize the consumption of wind and solar curtailment. The multi-objective particle swarm… More >

Abstract Aiming at the problem of increasing the peak-to-valley difference of grid load and the rising cost of user charging caused by the disorderly charging of large-scale electric vehicles, this paper proposes a coordinated charging scheduling strategy for multiple types of electric vehicles based on the degree of urgency of vehicle use. First, considering the range loss characteristics, dynamic time-sharing tariff mechanism, and user incentive policy in the low-temperature environment of northern winter, a differentiated charging model is constructed for four types of vehicles: family cars, official cars, buses, and cabs. Then, we innovatively introduce the… More >

Abstract Responding to the stochasticity and uncertainty in the power height of distributed photovoltaic power generation. This paper presents a distributed photovoltaic ultra-short-term power forecasting method based on Variational Mode Decomposition (VMD) and Channel Attention Mechanism. First, Pearson’s correlation coefficient was utilized to filter out the meteorological factors that had a high impact on historical power. Second, the distributed PV power data were decomposed into a relatively smooth power series with different fluctuation patterns using variational modal decomposition (VMD). Finally, the reconstructed distributed PV power as well as other features are input into the combined CNN-SENet-BiLSTM… More >

Abstract CO2 flooding for enhanced oil recovery (EOR) not only enables underground carbon storage but also plays a critical role in tertiary oil recovery. However, its displacement efficiency is constrained by whether CO2 and crude oil achieve miscibility, necessitating precise prediction of the minimum miscibility pressure (MMP) for CO2-oil systems. Traditional methods, such as experimental measurements and empirical correlations, face challenges including time-consuming procedures and limited applicability. In contrast, artificial intelligence (AI) algorithms have emerged as superior alternatives due to their efficiency, broad applicability, and high prediction accuracy. This study employs four AI algorithms—Random Forest Regression (RFR), Genetic… More >

Abstract Under the current long-term electricity market mechanism, new energy and thermal power face issues such as deviation assessment and compression of generation space. The profitability of market players is limited. Simultaneously, the cooperation model among various energy sources will have a direct impact on the alliance’s revenue and the equity of income distribution within the alliance. Therefore, integrating new energy with thermal power units into an integrated multi-energy complementary system to participate in the long-term electricity market holds significant potential. To simulate and evaluate the benefits and internal distribution methods of a multi-energy complementary system… More >

Abstract Natural gas hydrate widely exists in the South China Sea as clean energy. A three-phase transition layer widely exists in low permeability Class I hydrates in the Shenhu offshore area. Therefore, taking into account the low-permeability characteristics with an average permeability of 5.5 mD and moderate heterogeneity, a 3-D geological model of heterogeneous Class I hydrate reservoirs with three-phase transition layers is established by Kriging interpolation and stochastic modeling method, and a numerical simulation model is used to describe the depressurization production performance of the reservoir. With the development of depressurization, a specific range of… More >

Abstract With the continuous expansion and increasing complexity of power system scales, the binary classification for transient stability assessment in power systems can no longer meet the safety requirements of power system control and regulation. Therefore, this paper proposes a multi-class transient stability assessment model based on an improved Transformer. The model is designed with a dual-tower encoder structure: one encoder focuses on the time dependency of data, while the other focuses on the dynamic correlations between variables. Feature extraction is conducted from both time and variable perspectives to ensure the completeness of the feature extraction… More >
